Summary

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for continuity business solution analysis through a process that focuses on strategic alignment with Lubbock Power and Light enterprise and/or departmental objectives. This position proactively initiates, plans, leads, and provides consultation on analytical and creative strategies to resolve electric utility business and technical issues and gaps confronting management in the area of planning and implementing business continuity and emergency management solutions.

Essential Functions

 

  1. Analyzes enterprise continuity of operations, and emergency management solutions. 
  2. Liaise between subject matter experts and functional management.
  3. Estimate and present resources needed for strategic objectives.
  4. Prepare influential business cases for executive decision-making.
  5. Translates complex terminology that addresses anticipated impacts.
  6. Performs post-implementation analysis, including recommended remedial actions.
  7. Additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Emergency/Incident Management, or related field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of experience in continuity of operations or emergency operations.  

Related Continuity of Operations or Emergency Operations experience with an electric utility operating in ERCOT may be considered as a substitution for education.

Must be able to obtain a Certified Emergency Manager, Associate Business Continuity Professional, Certified Business Continuity Professional, or equivalent industry Certification within 12 months.

Texas Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds;
  • Frequently carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry up to 25 pounds;
  • Occasionally stand and walk;
  • Occasionally kneel;
  • Occasionally pull or push objects;
  • Occasionally rotate upper trunk to right or left while sitting or standing;
  • Occasionally reach above, at, or below shoulder height;
  • Frequently handle objects;
  • Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
