The Topsham Police Department is currently seeking qualified candidates whose personal values match our team’s Core Values of Integrity, Service to others, and Accountability.

Starting pay for a candidate with no prior law enforcement experience ranges from $27.54 to $28.58 based on level of education or prior active-duty military service. Lateral entry candidates are eligible to start at a pay rate up to $33.44 based on their prior law enforcement experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

 Must be at least 21 years of age or 20 years of age with 60 college credit hours.
 Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
 Possess a valid Maine driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days after employment start date.
 Must be able to pass the MCJA ALERT Test, and Physical Fitness Test, (unless already certified officer) prior to interview date.
 Must be in good physical condition and health.
 Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, polygraph, medical evaluation, and psychological examination.
