Description | Parker is located in the southwestern portion of Arizona and is a tight-knit community surrounded by the natural beauty of the Colorado River and the desert. The Town is 22 square miles with the original town located within the Colorado River Indian Reservation. Parker is easily accessible to many metropolitan areas including Lake Havasu City, Palm Springs, Laughlin, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. Parker has a population of almost 3,500 with a county population of 22,000. Parker operates under a Council/Manager form of government. The Town Council is comprised of a Mayor and six Council members. The Town Council appoints a professional Town Manager to oversee the Town’s operations and carry out policies set by the governing body. The Mayor and Town Council desire a proven professional who will be committed to and engaged with the Parker residents and community as a whole. The new Town Manager will be a good communicator and relationship builder with a personable, collaborative style. Experience in intergovernmental relations is highly desirable. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or public administration, plus a minimum of seven years of municipal government experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Experience in municipal planning and understanding Arizona water laws is a plus but is not required. Strong financial skills are required. The successful candidate will have skills to identify programs, obtain sources for funding and prioritize and present the annual budget. The salary range for the Town Manager position is $103,000 - $155,797 depending on qualifications and experience.
