Primary Job Duties

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing, managing, marketing, and generating revenue for The Lakefront at Little Elm™ and The Cove at the Lakefront™.  The Business Development Manager will achieve each amenity's long-term, organizational strategic goals, by building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating, closing business and sponsorship deals, and maximizing the revenue of each amenity.

 

The Business Development Manager will have an opportunity to implement a business plan to meet revenue goals in a unique aquatics facility and a growing, diverse business and entertainment district. The Business Development Manager must be highly motivated and strive for success by demonstrating Little Elm’s Core Values of Integrity, Customer Service, Efficiency, and Innovation.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Meet or exceed assigned annual sales and revenue goals for The Cove at The Lakefront™.
  2. Develop, promote, and sell rental packages for The Cove at the Lakefront™ including cabanas, party rooms, patio, mezzanine, and full facility rentals to meet revenue goals; coordinate with team members to implement and execute facility rentals, and assist with customer service and event/program delivery as needed.
  3. Develop, sell, and implement sponsorship/partnership opportunities to drive brand awareness and increase revenue for The Cove at The Lakefront™, The Lakefront at Little Elm™, and its retailers.
  4. Develop, plan, budget, promote, and execute seasonal events for The Lakefront at Little Elm.
  5. Work with the Marketing & Communications team, the Little Elm Economic Development Corporation, Town Staff, the Little Elm Chamber of Commerce, area retailers, and vendors to develop high-quality partnerships, events and programs.
  6. Negotiate sales of sponsorships, facility rentals, group ticket sales, and group/corporate memberships.
  7. Implement and monitor business and marketing plan.
  8. Liaise with concessionaire and other vendors to coordinate and deliver applicable food and beverage services.
  9. Identify prospects by growing, maintaining, and leveraging networks and resources to develop a business pipeline.   
  10. Increase brand awareness of The Cove at The Lakefront™ , The Rec at The Lakefront™, and The Lakefront at Little Elm.
  11. Build and maintain customer and corporate relationships.
  12. Collaborate and consult with teams from each amenity on development of promotional and merchandise products.
  13. Collaborate and consult with individual facilities/businesses to develop strategies, including promotional activities, programs, and special events.
  14. Maintain open and regular communication to ensure goals are met, as well as excellent customer service and program delivery.
  15. Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and marketing approaches that will increase sales, including print, web, digital, radio, and television.
  16. Forecast sales targets and ensure team members meet them.
  17. Collect data, prepare necessary reports and present information regarding financials, sales, revenue, participation and customer satisfaction.
  18. Participate in/on a variety of meetings, committees, teams, and/or other related groups to provide advice and guidance regarding marketing opportunities and options. Also participate in face-to-face communications with community stakeholders, local merchants, department heads, and vendors.
  19. Perform a variety of administrative activities.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
  21. Assist other divisions as needed.
  22. Must be able to work a varied schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field. Three to five years of sales, marketing, revenue development, or sponsorship experience preferred.

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  1. Must be bondable.
  2. Must possess valid Texas Driver’s License.

  1. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  2. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or authorities, or members of the local business community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate various machines and/or equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and be able to push and pull up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT            

The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Works in an office and indoor/outdoor aquatics atmosphere with potential exposure to heavy chemical presence. The Revenue Development Manager may be exposed to heat, cold, and temperature swings.
