Duties include investigating water main and service leaks; testing water meters (3/4’’ to 10’’), reinstalling water meters and making water service repairs; assisting with the repair and installation of water and sanitary sewer mains and services; providing assistance in the location of water distribution lines; and responding to citizen inquiries and complaints about water utility service. Duties typically will require lifting up to 75 pounds frequently. No experience is necessary, but a high school diploma or GED is required. To be hired at the higher pay range, must have one year experience in utilities maintenance or meter services, a valid Class A Texas CDL and a TCEQ Class C Water license. If not presently in possession of these licenses, as a condition of continued employment and to advance to the higher pay range, must obtain Class A Texas CDL and TCEQ Class C Water license within a specified timeframe. Day, evening, night or rotating shift may be required. Schedule will also include required participation in the standby rotation. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application.
