Duties include working closely with police communications, police records, and the public safety IT team to administer police technology systems such as computer aided dispatch (CAD) and records management systems (RMS); working with hardware and software vendors on installations, project coordination, maintenance and emergency response; configuring workstations such as OS, applications, email, printers and remote access; and diagnosing and repairing network connectivity problems (e.g. hardware, software and cabling issues). An Associate degree with major coursework in computer science, information systems or closely related field; and three years of increasing responsibility in maintaining and supporting modern state of the art systems required. Will be scheduled for periodic after-hours on-call duty including nights, weekends and holidays; and must be available for callback in emergency situations. Duties involve access to sensitive criminal justice information systems, which requires that a thorough criminal background check be conducted. Must not have any criminal conviction above the grade of a class B misdemeanor or any class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered.
