To be considered for this opportunity, previous governmental accounting experience will be measured favorably; however a candidate with comparable private sector technical experience will also be considered.  The leading candidate will possess the advanced technical skill set required to perform the analytical job duties as well as the energy, motivation and positive attitude needed to initiate organizational efficiency. 

Critical to achieving success in this position is also the ability to be an effective two-way communicator with your management team members, elected officials and the public.

Critical primary functions of this opportunity include but are not limited to, operating as the City’s principle Finance Director and Comptroller.  As the City’s CFO and a leader in the organization, the ideal candidate will also be comfortable and willing to drive evolution of process and work as a change agent.

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.  Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is required.

Experience: Candidate must have documented and verifiable experience of at least ten years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, including at least five years of management experience; budget preparation and review, cost and fund accounting, financial reporting, and internal auditing.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job will be considered.
