Located on the east coast of Central Florida, the City of Ormond Beach takes pride in providing a high quality of life for all. A principal city in the Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach area, it is an integral part of one of the fastest-growing areas in Florida.  Located in Volusia County, the city encompasses 32.9 square miles and a population of 41,907.

The Utilities Manager reports to the Public Works Director and is a member of the City’s senior leadership team. The Utilities Manager must be an interactive team member who communicates effectively with all facets of the organization. Under limited supervision, the position holder performs complex professional, technical, and administrative work coordinating and supervising operations of the Utility Division, inclusive of water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, reclaimed water treatment and distribution, and related equipment maintenance/service operations.

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university and have eight years of relevant experience, three of which must have been in management experience in a municipal water and wastewater utility. Completion of college-level courses in water and wastewater treatment plant operations, environmental statistics, hydraulics, water resources, environmental planning and management, stream sanitation, and environmental chemistry is preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Possession of a State of Florida “A” water and wastewater license or the ability to obtain licensing within the first six months of employment is required. License as a Florida Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain such is strongly desired.
