SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plan, direct, and supervise operations and maintenance of electric distribution substations, relay systems, SCADA systems, and digital fiber optic communication systems;
• Plan, direct, and supervise the 24 hour distribution customer service operations, including scheduling of 24 hour dispatching, scheduling of 24 hour trouble call and repair operations, contracting and monitoring of tree trimming contractors, and scheduling repairs of street lights;
• Prepare and administer operating and capital budgets;
• Prepare and evaluate specifications and bids for the purchase of equipment, systems, repairs, and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Thorough knowledge of electric distribution, substation, and transmission design and maintenance;
• Thorough knowledge of UNIX and SCADA systems.

• Supervise the work of others;
• Maintain effective working relationships with others;
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
• Prepare and administer a budget.

• Occasionally stand, walk, bend, and kneel during the shift;
• Occasionally climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs in order to inspect substation equipment;
• Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds;
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds;
• Occasionally push and pull objects;
• Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees;
• Occasionally move entire body along a surface in a crawling motion in order to inspect equipment;
• Frequently rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing;
• Place arms above, at, or below shoulder height.
