During your time with the City of West U, you will gain experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Annual Budget process for divisions, departments and citywide.
  • Participate in the public process by assisting staff with citizen advisory boards & commissions.
  • Perform entry level professional administrative work, research and analysis.
  • Assist with community outreach activities.
  • Developing and/or revising policies and procedures.
  • Performance measurement and management.
  • Assisting on special projects.

    Compensation, # of Positions, Requirements and Length of Internship:

  • The compensation for this program is $15 / hour with no benefits.
  • There are two internships available.
  • Enrolled or recently graduated from a master’s degree program.
  • Summer internship – typically start in May and end in August.
  • Have a desire to work in local government.
