Description

Under the direction of the Airport Landside/Fleet Coordinator, this position exercises independence of action in directing the orderly maintenance and repair of vehicles, including ARFF trucks and equipment, Conrac assets, irrigation, and fire suppression for the Department of Aviation Landside/Fleet Department. Supervises the Airport Landside/Fleet Mechanic and Utility Worker. Position is subject to twenty-four (24) hour work availability, including shift work, weekends, holidays, emergency calls, inclement weather, and special events.

-Sets work schedules.
-Writes and evaluates repair orders before assigning them for repairs.
-Coordinates work between airport departments.
-Completes repair orders and analyzes quality of repairs and time spent.
-Informs Airport Management of specific problems on an emergency basis.
-Recommends disciplinary action for employees.
-Advises on replacement of vehicles and equipment and recommends specification changes.
-Reports on daily absence and tardiness and employees' reasons for same.
-Schedules vacations and holiday.
-Takes part in, and carries out, programs formulated by Airport Management.
-Investigates Landside/Fleet incidents and takes corrective action.
-Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
-Participates in snow removal operations.  

Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of three years of experieince as a line mechanic, and two years progressively responsible positions in a diversified fleet operation. Additional college level technical training preferred. Must be able to pass a 10 year Criminal History Records Check in accordance with the Airport Security Program and drug/alcohol screening. Valid Class B Commercial Texas Driver's License required. Must possess or be able to possess a state vehicle inspectors license and EVT certification with 6 months of employment.
Salary:$34,342/Annually ($16.51/hr)
