Description	Phase 1. Trainee must complete the fire academy by passing all phases and passing the Texas Commission of Fire Protection Basic Structure exam. Phase 2. Trainee must satisfactorily complete the training regiment. Will answer calls for medical assistance and/or rescue within the City limits of Harker Heights and it's surrounding areas. Conduct primary and secondary medical surveys of all individuals who requested assistance or are suspected of requiring medical attention. Provide care and comfort as possible for individuals who are injured, ill, mentally ill, under the influence of drugs or alcohol, distressed, or simply uncomfortable. Administer basic and advance life support procedures, as necessary to preserve life and provide comfort, properly utilizing modern medical and rescue equipment. Transmit assessments of patients' conditions and treatments to nurses and physicians by use of the medical radios and/or telephone. Perform medical treatments as prescribed in the established protocols or upon orders of the physician in charge of that call. Provide constant monitoring, re-evaluation, and treatment for all patients being transported, until treatment is taken over by a physician. Salary is $41,877.00 annual/$6,000 annual paramedic incentive.
