Summary  

This position is responsible for assisting with the navigation of development projects through planning, zoning, building plan review, and building inspection processes from early planning stages until final building inspection and occupancy.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities   

• Coordinates the development process between Development Services divisions and other City departments. 
• Coordinates activities with the Sr. Planner and the Development Review Committee. 
• Responsible for personnel oversight of permit technicians to include hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes. 
• Reviews subdivisions, site plans, and building permit applications for planning and zoning compliance. 
• Compiles and communicates review comments for site plans, pre-submission proposals, and for plat applications. 
• Communicates effectively with the public and city staff regarding development regulations and procedures. 
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures. 
• Assist customers with planning and zoning questions. 
• Other duties as assigned.
    

Education and/or Experience  

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in addition to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations  

A valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for this position. Driving is a requirement of this position.
