Technical/Construction Manager II, Construction (Official Job Title: Manager II - Construction): This position is responsible for executing the construction of the Utilities Capital Improvement Program on behalf of the Public Utilities Department which includes overall management and delivery of projects during construction and in accordance with the contract documents, as well as other construction-related tasks. Provides overall direction for constructing complex programs/projects, leads work teams, and handles multi-disciplinary and technically challenging projects and programs within the Utility CIP. Typical projects involve extensive coordination and collaboration with interagency departments, regulatory agencies, and the citizens and communities where work is performed. Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years. Click Here to View Our Benefits Guide Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required in civil engineering, project management construction management or in a highly related field and four (4) years of related experience or an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and 6-years of job-related experience or year-for-year experience may substitute for the college degree. Two (2) years of supervisory experience is also required. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineering certification from the State of Florida is helpful. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Association in Project Management (CAPM). Job Based Competencies: e-Builder, Outlook, Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc
