Description | Animal Control Officer Summary: Responds to calls for service involving at large- live, deceased or injured animals. Investigates animal complaints up to and including cases of animal bite/scratch cases. Essential Functions:--Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Certification required. Prefer 3 to 6 months in heavy customer relations experience. License and certification requirements: Completes a basic animal control course no later than the first anniversary of the date the person assumes animal control duties as per Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 829. Possess a valid Texas Driver's License. Possess Euthania Certification from the Texas Department of Health or obtain within 120 days after appointment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Special Requirements: Working hours for Animal Control Officer may vary from M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. with an on call response. This response requires personal telephone service to the office.
