Description

Under general supervision of the Building Official, greets customers, receives and processes payments for permits, applications, licenses, etc.  Provides telephone and direct customer service information related to Development Services.  Maintains and updates databases, prepares department, division, or section reports, spreadsheets and updates records and files.

Examples of Duties:

  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Provides information, instruction and/or direction by telephone or direct contact.
  • Provides information for plans, records, permits, applications and approvals to developers, contractors, City departments, and citizens.
  • Accepts applications for permits, development and zoning requests and collects and processes fees for the applications.
  • Notifies customers of fees due, account renewal or follow-up if needed.
  • Answers and directs telephone inquiries to appropriate staff member.
  • Receives and prepares receipts for funds collected.
  • Balances cash drawer and prepares bank deposits.
  • Distributes mail to appropriate personnel or department.
  • Maintains and updates databases, spreadsheets, billing records, personal information, timesheets, records and files.
  • Compiles information related to requests for public information.
  • Orders and maintains office supplies.
  • Enters and maintains data into permit and project tracking systems.
  • Assists in the preparation of information for Town Council and Planning & Commission meeting packets.
  • Assists in the preparation, mailing and publication of public hearing notices and other required notifications.
  • Forwards utility releases to appropriate utility providers.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours/shift.
  • Performs such other duties as may be specified by the Town Council, Town Manager, Director of Development Services, Building Official, Town Charter, or the laws of the State of Texas.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) years minimum office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
