Description | Public Works Director-City of Freeport, TX EXCITING OPPORTUNITY [Review of Applications: Jan. 06, 2020] (see link below) Public Works Director-City of Freeport The City of Freeport, TX is seeking an experienced, proactive, and community focused leader to facilitate continuous improvement in public works services. Strong leadership skills required to effectively manage a team of 40+ employees, plus oversight of currently contracted water/sewer operations & maintenance functions. Responsible for $4.8 million in general funds + $7.4 million in utility funds. Management functions include streets and right-of-ways maintenance, drainage maintenance, facilities and fleet maintenance, parks and public grounds preservation and development, water/wastewater services, and creation and management of storm water utilities. Geographic scope includes maintenance of over 3 miles of beach, more than 10 parks, 63 miles of streets, 21 miles of drainage/culverts, 73 miles of ditches, and 20 miles of alleys.
