POSITION:                 YOUTH –BASKETBALL OFFICIAL

STATUS:                   PART-TIME

SALARY RANGE:     $14.00-$20.00 / HOUR, DOQ

WORK SCHEDULE: MONDAY-SATURDAY (8AM – 9:00PM) HOURS VARY

OPENING DATE:      FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2019

CLOSING DATE:      OPEN UNTIL FILLED

SUMMARY: 

The City of Evans is currently seeking responsible candidates to officiate youth (Kindergarten-6^th grade) recreational basketball games.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Enforces rules and regulations firmly, tactfully, and impartially; signals participant or other officials to make them aware of infractions or to otherwise regulate play; maintains control of players, coaches, and spectators; explains disputed calls to players and coaches; monitors participants and their ability to participate; monitors attire to properly perform (i.e. shoes, equipment, etc); provides a safe environment for all participants; completes any necessary reports and forms (i.e. Accident Reports, Incident Reports, etc); attends scheduled meetings as required; informs supervisor of any customer, equipment or facility needs; communicates with other sporting officials, coaches, facility managers, or the public by telephone, in written form, email, or in person in order to provide information, coordinate activities, and discuss issues; inspects playing surface to ensure that it meets the regulations and is safe for the players;; may be required to set up and clean up gym, and performs all other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 16 years of age or older; possess own transportation and hold a valid Colorado Driver’s License; possess First Aid/CPR certification or willing to obtain within 30 days; experience working with young children; have common knowledge of rules and regulations of the sports program; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, and the general public; ability to handle stressful situation in a calm and collected manner and ability to work well and cooperate with fellow employees.
