Description | General Statement: Accurately maintains and updates Municipal Court records and provides supporting administrative services to the Court. Carries out responsibilities with a minimum of direct supervision in accordance with established departmental, City, County and State policies and procedures. Exercises high levels of independent judgment, discretion, and initiative. Applies professional knowledge and expertise to solve complex problems; frequently interfaces with the general public, department personnel and management, and state, federal, and local government representatives.
Provides clerical assistance necessary to process various criminal, and city ordinance complaints, receives payments from the general public. Responds to inquiries about state statutes, procedures, and city ordinances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUAILIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years' experience as a Municipal Court Clerk or equivalent experience in related positions comparable to clerical work, preferably within the legal profession or law enforcement.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and climb and balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
