HIRING RANGE:  $48,130 - $56,624 annually
FULL SALARY RANGE:  $48,130 - $65,117 annually
 

Under general supervision, the Engineering Technician performs a variety of duties and tasks including maintaining records, reports, test results, files and construction plans. This position also provides responsible and complex office and field technical support, tracks status of Private Development and Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), inputs information into project database, coordinates information with other Town departments, provides Engineering information in response to inquiries from the general public, contractors, and outside agencies, assists walk-in and handles phone requests in support of the Engineering Services Department. 

Experience and Training Guidelines:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.,
• Two (2) years permit or plan review experience;
• May be required to obtain advanced training in computer software. (i.e. AutoCad, Excel, SmartSheet, etc.)
• Experience working in an Engineering or Construction Department preferred.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of municipal laws, codes, policies and guidelines applicable to the job responsibilities.
