Job Title:

Laborer

Summary:

This position is responsible for keeping inventory of supplies including those in the stockroom and other materials. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating any vehicle to make & pickup deliveries
  • Operation of equipment such as a forklift to load & unload supplies
  • Serve as back-up to Storekeeper
  • Ensuring all necessary assigned tools & equipment are available & in good operating condition 
  • Receive delivery of supplies / equipment / materials
  • Issues tools / parts / materials / supplies & ensures forms completed accurately
  • Performs data entry of inventory issues & receipts
  • Works as "stand-by" once every six weeks to provide parts & supplies to crews
  • Maintains stock room / materials / supplies inventory
  • Makes & picks up deliveries
  • Loads & unloads supplies as needed
  • Performs related duties as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to obtain & maintain City driving permit
  • Ability to operate computer terminal
  • Ability to maintain records
  • Ability to obtain Forklift Certification within first 30 days of employement
  • Frequent bending
  • Stooping
  • Lifting up to 90 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certification

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  High School Diploma or GED

  • Commensurate with Experience
