Compensation: $14.34 or higher, DOQ (FLSA Non-Exempt), Full Time w/benefits; employer paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, and New Benefits; TMRS participation of 7% with a 2/1 match; paid vacation & sick days; and 11 paid holidays.  In addition, the department offers incentive pay for specific certifications, education, and longevity.

Description: Performs work necessary for the maintenance and repair of water mains, fire hydrants, wells, pump stations and customer water and sewer service lines, lift stations and sewer mains ensuring all safety regulations are followed to maintain public health

​

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; some construction related experience and plumbing knowledge is preferred; must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in the maintenance of water & sewer systems; basic knowledge of materials used in water & sewer systems.  Must pass a medical examination, drug screen and CCH background check; valid Class C Texas driver license; must obtain a Class C water license and Class I wastewater license within three (3) years of employment.

Physical Abilities: 

• Must possess the visual acuity to operate a computer terminal and city vehicle
• Walk, stand, or sit, for prolonged periods of time
• Regularly push, pull, lift, and/or carry up 10 pounds
• Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds or more
• Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
• Operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard
• Speak and hear to exchange information in English
• Operate a vehicle to travel to various locations
