This position is full time and starts at a base rate of $14.13 per hour with an additional amount for an applicant already licensed or certified.  A Streets Maintenance Worker performs repair on streets and drainage systems, cleans and maintains drainage systems, and operates and services equipment.

The regular working schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the schedule is adjusted during those hot summer months to help keep you safe.  Must be available for overtime and standby rotations to include nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

• Repairs and resurfaces streets.

• Shovels asphalt from back of dump truck (average load = 22 lbs.).

• Lifts jack hammer from storage (load = 93 lbs.).

• Lifts concrete from storage on truck to bumper for mixing (load = 80 lbs.).

• Cleans and repairs drainage systems including weed control.

• Operates and performs service and minor maintenance on equipment.

• Performs all related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and Class C Texas driver license with a good driving record required.  A Texas Commercial driver license (CDL), Class A with a Tanker Endorsement must be obtained within 60 days of employment.  Previous streets/drainage experience preferred.
