The Special Projects/Permitting Manager will report directly to the Public Works Director and must become an integral member of the Eddy County Road Department’s supervisory staff.  Employee will assist the Public Works Director in all aspects of the operation of the Eddy County Road Department.  The position requires working with BLM/State on permitting requirements: Pitts, Roads, Leases, Covert Permits, Right of Entry, and other permits that are needed for road construction.  The Special Projects/Permitting Manager has the duty and is responsible for Road Evaluation Criteria program and overseeing and coordinate the general road permitting process.  The Special Projects/Permitting Manager will be overseeing the allocation of Grant Funding. All managers will know other managers positions and responsibilities within the Public Works Department.  All managers are equal in authority and can take over other manager positions when directed.  The successful candidate will direct employees in safety and adherence to all local, state and federal regulations, team building, work performance evaluations, policy and procedure, work quality, equipment operations, project evaluation, design and management, public safety and public awareness.  Employee may be required to work overtime, irregular hours, attend job related meetings/training, both in and out of state, and perform other tasks as assigned.
