Description | Database Support Specialist Summary: Under general direction, this position maintains and modifies databases; analyzes system performance; designs and writes queries and programs; designs, documents and implements all system and server processes including security, access, test routings and back up; modifies existing programs to user requirements; troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions; writes systems documentation; and may provide work direction to programmers. Databases may include but are not limited to document imaging and telephony/unified messaging, confidential member data, system storage and public data. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High School Diploma or GED required. A.A. degree in Computer Science or MCSE: Data Management preferred. Comprehensive understanding of relational database theory and management systems. Extensive knowledge in SSRS reporting. Strong working knowledge of SQL Server Databases including SQL Server 2008 R2 and above. Skill in:
License and certification requirements: A Texas State Driver's License is required. Must have personal cell phone for communication with IT department 24x7. On-call. Physical demands and working environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment.
