Description | Kennel Attendant Summary:Primary duties are to provide maintenance cleaning, feeding, and general attention to the animals housed in the shelter. Perform humane euthanasia. Ability and fortitude to dismember animal head from body, after humane euthanasia, and submit specimen for possible rabies analysis. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: Minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. certification required. Minimum of six (6) months heavy customer relations experience. Experience with animals and knowledge of their behavior preferred.
License and certification requirements: Possess a valid Texas Driver License. Possess Euthanasia Certification from Texas Department of Health or obtain within 120 days after appointment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Special Requirements: Working hours for Kennel Attendants may vary from the M-F 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with Saturday, Sunday and Holiday duties.
