Provide excellent customer service in all interactions. Clean and perform minor maintenance of the Pet Adoption Center and it's associated structures. Weekend work is required. Does related work as required. Evening, weekend and on-call work required. Routinely patrol streets to pick up stray and dead animals. Clean and maintain Pet Adoption Center and it’s associated accoutrements (i.e. outside pens, fences and play areas). Collect license fees, shelter fees and issue complaints for violations of Animal Control Laws. Appear in Municipal court to testify regarding violations of Animal Control Laws. Make minor building repairs; change light bulbs. Perform minor servicing of equipment; answer telephone. As a last resort, and through the following of all policies and procedures, use injectable euthanasia products. Reachable by telephone for emergency call after normal operating hours. Conduct and/or assist with Pet Adoption events. Work cooperatively with Pet Adoption Center volunteers. Attendance is an essential function of the job. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Possession of , or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid Texas drivers license. Ability to obtain certification by the Texas Department of Health as a certified basic Animal Control Officer.Salary is $35,988.00 annually; $17.30 per hour.
