Description | IT Software Applications Supervisor Summary: Under direction of the Information Technology (IT) Director, the IT Software Applications Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the applications support team. This position will be responsible for setting priorities and driving projects related to personnel responsible for business system applications. This position also ensures applications are meeting business requirements and goals; and that end-user requirements are fulfilled. The IT Software Applications Supervisor assists staff in evaluating, installing, configuring, and deploying applications; and works with staff to enhance existing applications throughout the enterprise. Incumbent will be expected to work in conjunction with other IT functional teams to complete assigned projects successfully and efficiently. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervises daily activities and provides leadership to the Software Applications team. Supports and guides Software Application Administrators through the interaction with users, identification of pertinent training opportunities, and maintaining relationships with other IT personnel.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. Minimum of five (5) years' progressively responsible experience in information technology, which includes two (2) years of business application system support and two (2) years supervisory experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
License and certification requirements: A valid Texas State Driver's License is required. Professional IT certifications are desirable. Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of FBI criminal background fingerprint check in accordance with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) standards. Must carry a cell phone 24 x 7 for emergency communication needs.
