Summary

Manages all aspects of the Parks Operations including but not limited to: park facilities and municipal grounds, parks personnel management, division budget preparation, and Urban Forestry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Oversee and supervise employee schedules, workload, training, etc.

· Coordinate and assist others in the planning and implementation of special events.

· Assists with tree ordinance verification and violations.

· Assist in writing and preparing Parks Operations budget for the division.

· Formulate annual maintenance plans for turf grass, facilities, tree, etc.

· Administrative clerical duties including document creation and distribution, email and phone 
  correspondence, required division reports, etc.

· Inspecting staff and contracted vendors tasks for quality and completion.

· Confirming and determining that all work standards are accurately met.

· Application and/or delegation of landscape and facilities tasks like the application of fertilizer, calibration of 
  equipment, repair of irrigation system/equipment, etc.

· Participation on the City safety committee and/or other committees as assigned.

· Other tasks as assigned

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Hazardous Chemical training within 6 months

TDA Pesticide Applicators License

Texas Licensed Irrigators License within 6 months

CPR/First Aid Certification

A Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record

CDL with passenger endorsement within 6 months
