Description

Perform a variety of skilled street maintenance and repair tasks of public infrastructure for the Department of Public Works, including repair of the City's roadways, parking lots, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and drainage facilities. This position will identify areas needing repairs and may perform demolition, patching and overlaying, crack sealing of asphalt, back filling trenches and excavations.
 

Maintains heavy equipment to include backhoe, bobcat and pulling trailer and the installation of traffic control as required
• Maintains records of street and construction projects and street inventory 
• Repairs street signs and performs crack sealing and sweeping of city streets 
• Evaluates school zone signals and coordinates street light repairs 
• Daily repairs on city streets as needed 
• Performs proper maintenance of department equipment 
• Performs preventative maintenance on all city owned drainage easements throughout the city
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of experience using heavy equipment 
One to two years' experience in street repair work required, concrete/asphalt preferred 
 
Required Licenses or Certifications:
• Valid Texas Driver's License required
