Position Title:  Groundskeeper                                   Department: Parks & Recreation

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time                     Grade:  104      $13.85/ Hr.

SUMMARY:  Assists with generating and executing the chemical application program for all city owned grounds to include athletic fields, facilities, parks, and cemeteries with chemicals to control weeds and promote healthy turf. Maintains all required federal, state and local chemical application records. Stores, mixes, applies and disposes of chemicals in accordance with federal and state law.

Education and Experience:  High School Diploma and one (1) year of work experience involving turf and ornamental maintenance required. Bachelors of Science degree in Plant Science, Soil Science, Turf Science, Horticulture or a related field is preferred.

Licenses or Certifications: Valid Florida driver’s license. Florida Limited Lawn and Ornamental license required; or must be able to obtain the license within probationary period (180 days).
