$14.49 Hourly / Full-time position; 7AM-3:30PM
 

Job Summary

Assist in supervising water / wastewater maintenance crew in the repairing and replacement excavation of water and sewer lines.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Repair water and wastewater mains; clean and prepare pipe for repairs; install repair parts and evaluate effectiveness of repair. 

• Install wastewater taps, water taps and meters; prepare pipe and fittings, tap main by hand / or machine and install service to property line.  

• Assist in excavation: operate air hammer to break rock and asphalt; use pick and shovel to remove dirt and rock for hole; use probe to locate pipe.  

• Clean wastewater lines; use hand and / or machine rods to unclog or clean main.  

• Miscellaneous jobs; install fire hydrants, valves, manholes and clean outs and other jobs as assigned.  

• Clean, maintain tools and equipment. Load and unload trucks
 

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent 

Valid Class “C” driver’s license 

Truck driving experience including operations of standard and automatic transmissions

Ability to operate various types of tools and equipment such as backhoe/front-end loader is preferred

Attend school and seminars to obtain certification from TCEQ within 12 months of employment

Must be familiar with confined space entry techniques and procedures

Must have C/Unit II Collection License from state
