Position Title:  Planning Tech-Permit/BTR                Department: Community Development

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt, Full-Time                   Grade:106 ($28,528.00-Annually DOQ)

SUMMARY: This is a highly technical and responsible position involving assisting the public and providing office support duties related to processing of applications for Business Tax Receipts (BTRS) and Code Compliance Inspection Applications for permits and issuance of BTR’s. Collects and analyzes data and zoning compliance within the city and determines the fees to be charged according to the city’s fee schedule. Issues BTR’s for businesses, professionals and contractor occupations. Collects applications for building and zoning code compliance inspections and logs them in accordingly, collects the permit fees and issues permits.  Once the structure passes inspection the technician issues Code Compliance Certificate. This position reports to the Permit and License Administrator.

Education and Experience:  High School Diploma and two (2) years of administrative work experience involving responsible, technical and administrative work within the planning and construction related fields; or, any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position.  

Licenses or Certifications: Public Notary certifications desired.
