The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is an organization of city and county governments in the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area created to foster collaboration at the regional level and promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region. The Regional Planning and Services Division provides technical assistance and support to local governments throughout the 10-county region on issues related to planning and land use, sustainable development, transportation planning, natural resource management, and related policy fields.

 

The Regional Planning and Services Division is seeking a Regional Research Specialist to support programmatic activities. The main duties of the position will perform research, mapping and data analysis to support regional planning projects that integrate land use, transportation, and other growth trends to support and assess regional policy and planning strategies. Ideal candidates will have an understanding of Texas development regulations and community planning practices.  For more information on the position, please review the job description.

 

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework community and regional planning, urban planning, public policy or public administration is required. Completion of graduate-level coursework in planning or public policy is preferred.

Experience:  At least 12 months of professional work in community and regional planning, urban planning, public policy, or public administration is required.

Salary: $42,000 - $52,000 per year annualized
