The Public Works Shop – Lead Foreman is responsible for maximizing the use of department resources by carefully planning the daily activities of employees, monitoring their progress, helping to resolve any problems that arise, assisting on-site as needed, managing use of City’s assets and ensuring proper safety training and protocol. May be called back to work before or after regularly scheduled work hours or on scheduled days off. May participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements:

High school graduation (or GED) and 5 years’ experience with municipal public works projects, field operations, utility construction, administrative/management experience or any combination of related experience is required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, Traffic Flagging Control, and First Aid certifications. Associate degree, Water Distribution Manager I or II certification, Cross Connection Control Specialist, Water Treatment Plant Operator I, and Commercial Driver’s License is preferred. A combination of experience and training that provides the desired skills and abilities may be considered.
