The Village of Hartland is located in southeast Wisconsin, 20 minutes west of the City of Milwaukee. Hartland is a premier community to live, work and play in the heart of Lake Country, home to the Bark River and Ice Age Trial. The Village hosts nationally ranked school districts, a desirable downtown experience for dining and shopping and several recreational and community events. Desirable homes, a variety of churches and high quality municipal services continue to make Hartland a true destination.
Starting salary range $110K-$125K DOQ plus excellent benefits. Village President and Six Village Trustees are elected on a non-partisan basis. $16.5M total annual budget including CIP, TID’s, Utilities. 48FT and 150+PT/ seasonal employees. Future emphasis on capital improvement planning, downtown redevelopment, Ice Age Trail and riverfront enhancements , development of organizational continuous improvement processes, recruitment/selection of key village staff members and sound financial management practices.
Require Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration or related field; prefer Master’s Degree with progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in a municipal organization(s). Consideration of candidates with private sector or military experience will be made if they can demonstrate accomplishments that directly relate to skills required. Residency is encouraged. Desire a strong background in capital improvement planning and execution; budget development and debt financing; human resources administration; commercial development/redevelopment; organizational change, community planning and the ability to effectively manage contracts and projects. The successful candidate should have a high level of both personal and professional integrity; have acute listening skills (seeking to first understand and then to respond); be an out of the box thinker; possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and be able to work harmoniously with elected officials including other governmental entities.
