Duties include providing leadership, and technical and safety guidance, to crew members; answering questions and providing information to the public and internal and external customers; assuring that an adequate stock of supplies and materials is maintained; preparing a variety of reports; and participating in the daily operations of the assigned section. Dependent upon assignment, duties may include installing, testing, maintaining and repairing water or wastewater systems; conducting restoration of excavation / repair sites; operating Vactor, wash and rod trucks; assessing and troubleshooting sewer systems; performing directional flushing; operating hydraulic or electric valve equipment, or GPS equipment, working with GIS staff to upgrade maps; and / or testing and repairing 3” – 12” water meters. Duties may require entering confined spaces, ascending high towers and descending into vaults, manholes, and lift stations. A high school diploma or GED and two years of experience performing water and wastewater maintenance (including equipment operation duties) required. Must have a valid Class A CDL Texas driver’s license and currently possess TCEQ-issued Class C Water and Collection II Wastewater licenses or higher. Day, evening or night shift may be available. Will work in the stand‑by rotation as required. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application.
