Salary:  $73,758 - $120,861 Annually (Dependent on Qualifications)

ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities 

The Engineer IV will be responsible for the technical review of project plans and proposals that assist in the orderly development of the City within the Streets Department.

  • Serve as liaison for the City by coordinating with TXDOT, consultant(s) and other City departments.
  • Review plans, specifications, and estimates for street design, traffic control, City parkland, and S.E.A. district development.
  • Oversee construction of City assets.
  • Outreach to stakeholders, businesses, property owners, etc.
  • Coordinate transportation funding for Bond programs and Transportation Alternative Program.
  • Responsible for the implementation of Mobility CC for City projects or privately funded projects.
  • Assist the Traffic Engineer in monitoring and evaluating transportation performance measures and progress of Mobility CC and City master plans.
  • Coordinates with City staff, TXDOT, Regional Transportation Authority, Metropolitan Planning Organization, developers, etc for educational and reporting purposes.
  • Monitor Capital Improvement Projects assist in updating City transportation documents and utilize software for planning and design.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of six (6) years of directly related experience in Streets Operations
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, or a valid registration as a Professional Engineer in another state is required
  • Previous registration in Texas or another state with the ability to obtain State of Texas registration within six (6) months of employment is required
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
