SALARY:  $1,938.09 - 2,034.99 bi-weekly, DOQ (26 pay periods)

HOURS:  Full-time, generally Mon.-Fri.  Must be flexible to work evenings & weekends.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for the overall programming of recreational programs, including the marketing and sales of these programs.  This requires primary oversight of the programming standards, systems and practices as they directly impact the overall member and guest experience and operating excellence of the division.  EOE.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manage the recreation division budget, including both the revenue and expense funds to achieve self-sufficiency. 

  2. Monitor the division’s pricing of services, staff and contract employee payroll, sales and other revenues and expenses to meet budget and forecast goals.

  3. Manage the daily, weekly and monthly payroll functions for division staff and contract employee groups to meet budget and forecast goals.

  4. Ensure the operation of the division meets city standards and provides an environment of member and guest expectations.

  5. Manage all recreation programming and marketing practices, policies and systems that are necessary for achieving the division and facility’s strategic and business plan goals.

  6. Supervise recreation personnel including hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and evaluating personnel.

  7. Ensure the safety of all facility guests.

  8. Maintain all recreation equipment in proper working order.

  9. Maintain a clean and orderly facility, including preventative maintenance on all equipment.

  10. Create, coordinate, resource, implement, deliver, market and sell all recreation programs and services. 

  11. Assist in the delivery of division services as required, including providing specific services as qualified to do so by training (examples are working the floor, instructing a class, facilitating program activities, etc).

  12. Administer standards of operation, policies and, procedures.

  13. Administer recreation services including the oversight of sports leagues and supervising recreation activities.

  14. Ability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

  15. Perform other tasks as needed or directed.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. College degree in Recreation, Kinesiology, or related field, or six years experience in sports or recreation field in lieu of education.

  2. Minimum of two year experience in a supervisory or similar division head role.

  3. Minimum of four years experience in the recreation industry.

  4. Certification in CPR/AED required.

  5. TAAF Sports Management certification preferred.

  6. Skill and knowledge of computers required.  Daxko/CSI software experience preferred. 

  7. No visible tattoos or unnatural hair color.  No piercings to be worn visible during shift. 

  8. Prefer non-smoker.
