Description | This position performs a variety of activities in support of human resources functions with internal and external customers, to include talent acquisition, research and analysis and providing customized recruitment and retention strategies for designated departments; oversees the city's internship program; and facilitates civil service compliance with chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code and applicable local rules by assisting with civil service test coordination. This role executes employment actions (hiring, promotion, transfer, termination, etc.) in accordance with city-adopted policies, processes personnel action forms; and facilitates job post opening, closings and renewals with assigned departments in preparation of the weekly job flyer. A Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent experience; and two (2) years of human resources experience are required. Experience working in local government and with chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code is preferred. Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are beneficial.
