JOB TITLE: Senior Planner
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt 
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Community and Economic Development
SUPERVISOR: Community and Economic Development Director or Designee
SALARY RANGE: $63,080-$92,987.65/YR.

Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Community and Economic Development Director or designee, manages planning application cases, drafts, interprets and applies county community planning codes, ordinances, and policies to provide services to the public, the department, other departments and county administration. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Minimum Qualifications for Senior Planner:
•Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. 
•Two years of professional planning or closely related experience.
•Additional two years of professional planning experience, including some experience with the management of planning projects.
•Must possess or have ability to obtain within first sixty days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications for Senior Planner:
•Experience working in a municipality or other public entity.
