City Administrator (New Position)
Mineral Point (Population 2,487)
Located in the beautiful driftless hills of Southwest Wisconsin, in close proximity to the State Capital of Madison, Mineral Point is recognized as a community filled with historic architecture reminiscent of a small European village, with dozens of artist galleries, studios, charming shops, historic sites, delicious dining, and cozy lodging that all makes it a tourist destination within a friendly family oriented community. Mineral Point is very focused on preserving its small town atmosphere, reasonable cost of living and high quality of life. Mineral Point is a full service community that prides itself on being a great place to live, work, play, learn and visit. Anticipated salary range $72-$82K plus benefits, DOQ. Mayor and eight (8) elected Alder persons on a non-partisan basis, 3.6 M. Budget plus sewer, storm sewer and water utilities, 27FT and 36 PT employees. Future emphasis on organizational change, budget development and debt financing, sound financial and human resources management, community planning and economic development.
Require Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or related field; prefer Master’s Degree with at least 2 years progressive municipal management experience. Residency is encouraged. Desire a strong background in budget development and debt financing (including TIF experience); grant writing; strong record of past organizational accomplishments and the ability to cultivate positive and productive relationships with the Mayor, Alder persons, business and community members. The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative leadership style in carrying out governing body policies; a high level of integrity; a strong work ethic (commitment to public service); open and positive communication skills (public marketing and community relations) and innovation in service/program delivery.
