Software / Maintenance Coordinator (Official Job Title: IT Professional III) (pending vacancy):  To provide the Enterprise with information technology software asset management that involves managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, tracking and disposal of software applications and hardware within the organization. This involves project management and analytical expertise as it relates to system software and user applications.   To provide guidance, assistance and implementation direction for new (or updated) enterprise-wide applications established within the County.  Provide analytical expertise to partnering agencies with the goals of developing community focused and fiscally responsible outcomes. 

Subject to Passing CJIS Background Check:   This position is subject to passing a pre-employment FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems background check and security clearance.

Duties:

  • Software Asset Management and licensing activities to include; obtaining quotes, P-card purchases of  non-enterprise applications/software, contract management, tracking of  both desktop & server applications/software in ITSM system through the asset lifecycle.  Generation of work tickets for installation of applications/software, coordination with Desktop Support.  Monitoring of O365 and Azure licencing.Work with Vendors to true up all Microsoft licensing on a yearly basis.  Coordinate with EIT financial group on all licensing. Provide management yearly software reports for budget allocation.
  • Assist EIT Purchasing coordinator with overseeing disposal and yearly inventory with the Network, Telecom & System Administration groups.  Assist with applying asset tags for new equipment and coordinating with Desktop Support for yearly workstation refreshes. Assist Telecom Coordinator with desktop phone password issues, name changes and break/fix replacements.

  • Provides TRAC classes to meet annually with EIT customers to review FY Refresh information for Workstations, review cost models, phone charges and assist with finding information on EIT SharePoint site.

  • Attend Application/Project Management & Change meetings to assist/coordinate with new software/applications. Review  processes yearly for accuracy and efficiency.  Report review for asset warranty information and coordination with financial group for license renewal purchases.

Minimum Qualifications:  Minimum of a 4 year degree with some experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in specific field of endeavor with 3 to 5 years of related experience OR a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with two (2) or more years of related experience.  Experience may substitute for formal education at discretion of management.  Special Note: Internal candidates who have demonstrated the necessary competencies to the satisfaction of Enterprise Information Technology Management, may be considered on a case-by-case basis for promotion to this class.

Job Competencies:  Demonstrated IT knowledge of network, security and telecommunications hardware, software, desktop/laptop and peripherals with centralized management in an enterprise environment.  Experience with all purchasing practices, policies and government contract pricing.  Ability to generate reports utilizing MS Office or Crystal Reports with the various systems.  Experience or knowledge of ITIL best practices.
