Description | Utilities Asset Manager (Official Job Title: Manager III): This is advanced level managerial work overseeing the Renewal and Replacement program for the County’s Public Utilities Infrastructure including water and wastewater underground infrastructure assets. Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a physical or natural science, engineering, business administration, or a related field, and six (6) years of utility asset management experience, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. A Master’s Degree may substitute for two years of experience. We may consider allowing related professional experience to substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. A valid Driver’s License is required. Preferred Qualifications: Project Management Professional Certification or the ability to acquire within one year. PACP (Pipeline Assessment Certification Program), MACP (Manhole Assessment Certification Program), and LACP (Lateral Assessment Certification Program) or ability to obtain within one year. Job Competencies: Ability to manage complex and difficult assignments related to the County pipe infrastructure; advanced interpersonal skills required; ability to mentor and lead others; ability to think strategically; ability to coordinate and implement changes; ability to lead, monitor and coordinate projects; ability to oversee work of others; possesses excellent employee relations skills; ability to interface with agency counterparts.
