If this position suits your interest, we invite you to apply today! ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Job Summary: The purpose of this job within the organization is to provide case management services for juvenile and minor offenders' cases filed in the City's municipal court. This job works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Essential Functions: Acts as liaison between the court and schools, parents, and community service providers; handles all inquiries regarding minors' cases. Performs case management and docket clerk duties for all juvenile, minor, and teen court cases, including entering charges, sending summons, monitoring for compliance, and setting for show cause or dismissal. Verifies community service hours and applies credit when approved. Coordinates and implements the teen court program; recruits, screens applications, trains, creates schedules, and oversees adult and teen volunteers. Reviews, updates, and distributes the court's informational listing of nonprofit organizations for community service and the state approved alcohol or tobacco awareness course providers; conducts annual visits to local community service locations to address any issues. Maintains the scire facias docket and submits bond forfeiture cases for hearings when appropriate; prepares all notices for certified mailing. Additional Duties: Ensures correct reporting to outside agencies: reviews the juvenile, minor and civil sections of the court's OCA report and make necessary corrections to ensure accuracy. Updates the court lobby slide show and court web site pages when necessary. Assists peers by processing faxes, mail, providing window customer service, answering phone calls, record requests, and backing up docket clerk for trials. Monitors and reviews all juveniles who fail to appear for cases or fail to pay cases to be processed as an adult after offender reaches age 17; submits them for warrants to be issued if necessary. Performs all case expunctions as ordered by the district court within 10 days of receiving the order and forwards entire case documents and expunction certification back to the district court clerk. Maintains a report on teen court cases for tracking of recidivism and for anticipated future studies. Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires an Associate's Degree in behavioral sciences or closely related field. Bachelor's Degree in behavioral sciences or closely related field (preferred). Requires one year as a court clerk in a mid-large sized City's court or closely related experience. Valid, Texas Class "C" driver's license (or the ability to obtain within 90-days of hire). Special Certifications and Licenses: Certified Court Clerk II Notary of Public (or the ability to obtain within 60-days of hire) |
