Description

The City of Southlake is searching for a customer focused team player who is passionate about providing world class customer service to a world class community. The purpose of this position is to develop and manage learn to swim and water safety programs at the Marq Southlake. This is accomplished by planning, coordinating, monitoring, and teaching learn to swim and water safety programs; assisting in the hiring, training, scheduling of part-time and seasonal employees; interacting with citizens, volunteers, City officials, employees and the general public;  supervising part-time and seasonal employees in the absence of the Aquatics Supervisor. Other duties will include providing support to the Recreation Division. 

Pay: $15.50 per hour

Essential Functions:

People Management: Supervises assigned personnel by directing, instructing, scheduling, reviewing, and evaluating work activities in the absence of the Aquatics Supervisor; recognizes employees for doing good work; reviews work for quality; makes recommendations / decisions regarding hiring, disciplining, terminating and other personnel actions.
Safety: Ensures the overall safety, health and welfare of all individuals participating in programming and using the recreation facilities and services of the City. Ensures the safety of subordinate staff and ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed.
The Marq Southlake Operations: Monitors and teaches all learn to swim and water safety programs. Monitors programs for quality and ensures quality standards are met. Evaluates effectiveness and make recommendations for changes. Manages guest relations by ensuring satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution prior to escalation.
Attention to Detail:  Performs tasks with care and is thorough. Checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness. Compares final work product to what is expected to find inconsistencies or errors. Remains aware and takes care of details that are easy to overlook or dismiss as insignificant.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diplomacy or Equivalency
  • Up to two years of relevant experience
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, American Red Cross CPR Certification.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, American Red Cross First Aid and AED Certification.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.
  • Early morning, evening, weekend and holiday work required.
