This position is responsible for operating heavy and light equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Installs proper warning devices at work sites
• Mows city rights-of-way
• Operates a dump truck in support of construction and repair activities
• Operates an asphalt paver, vibrating roller, or box blade tractor
• Operates a snow plow / sander during ice and snow events
• Operates an excavator / track hoe in tree removal, creek maintenance, demolition, and excavation
• Operates a bulldozer in road construction, demolition, and landscaping
• Operates a street sweeper
• Cleans storm drains
• Removes trees and cleans storm damage
• Loads and unloads trucks by hand or with equipment
• May be assigned to maintain city street signs, traffic control devices, barricades, and traffic cones
• Performs routine maintenance on trucks and equipment
• Performs the duties of the crew chief in his or her absence
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
