Sewer/Water Plant Foreman

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Valid driver’s license - Obtain a Valid IL Class B CDL within six(6) months of hire - Valid Class C Water Operators License- Valid Class II Sewer Operator License - Knowledge of SCADA.

General Duties:
Under direction, supervises the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems for the City of Savanna. Supervises and trains new water and sewer plant employees. Supervises and directs all chemical feeding and testing required by all local, State, and Federal regulations as they pertain to the water distribution system and wastewater treatment facility and collection system. Supervises sample collection, testing, recording and interpretation of laboratory analysis, and submits all reports required by local, State, and Federal agencies.  Performs other duties as assigned.  This position reports to the Superintendent of Public Works.

Additional Information:
This position is responsible for working forty hours (40) each week with occasional overtime and weekend assignments. Salary is negotiable and is dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position, which is a member of Public Works collective bargaining unit, IBEW Local 196, receives comprehensive benefits including paid time off, IMRF(Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund), and health, vision, dental and life insurance.
