Englewood, CO (population 34,957) Englewood, a family oriented, thriving community just minutes from downtown Denver is seeking progressive, collaborative leaders as candidates for its next City Manager.  Located along Denver’s light rail line, Englewood is an ideal place to live, work and play – Englewood and the Denver metropolitan area have numerous recreational and entertainment opportunities. Englewood is a home rule community and its proximity to Denver has led to considerable small and larger business growth and redevelopment along with a growing arts community.

• Englewood has always been known as a family oriented community.  With a median age of 37, 31% of its residents are millennials with a significant number of new families calling Englewood home in the last five years.

• Englewood is home to 1600 businesses with 95% of them having fewer than 50 employees.  Larger redevelopment is imminent as well in the City Center which is home to one of the nation’s first Transit Oriented Developments in 1997. There is potential for significant redevelopment in the next five years.

• Englewood is governed by the Council Manager form of government.  The City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer and is appointed by a 7-member City Council.  The Mayor is selected from among the Councilmembers. The City Manager is responsible for the appointment of all department heads and the development and administration of the $100 million annual budget.  Englewood is a full service City with the exception of fire and emergency services which are handled by the City and County of Denver. There are approximately 400 full time and 42 part time employees serving the City of Englewood.

Candidates are expected to have Master’s degree in Public Administration or Business Administration along with ten years increasingly responsible experience in local government.  A combination of experience and education may be substituted for these qualifications.  Candidates from the private sector, military or nonprofit sector are encouraged to apply.  Candidates must be highly collaborative, consensus building leaders with a communicative, team-oriented management style.  Starting salary is $165,000 - $180,000 +/- DOQ.  Residency in the City of Englewood will be required.
