The City of Orange is a home rule city operating under the council-manager form of government. The Council consists of seven members, including the Mayor. Orange is a well-run, well managed City with unlimited opportunities for growth and development for the right individual. Their most junior staff has eleven years of seniority so the City is highly stable. The City has 190 employees and a total 2019 fiscal year budget of $34,715,822. The City Manager is responsible for the overall administration and operation of City departments, including, but not limited to: City Secretary’s Office, Economic Development Corporation, Finance, Customer Service, Human Resources, Fire, Library, Planning and Community Development, Police, and Public Works.

The City of Orange seeks an innovative leader and a strong communicator with integrity to lead their City into the future. The selected candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, management, or business; a master’s degree is preferred. Five to seven years of experience in executive leadership in a city similar in size to Orange (population 18,000) is required. Seven to ten years of experience as a manager in a mid-size City is preferred. The successful applicant needs to have familiarity with working disasters (or possible disasters). Orange is approximately 60 miles from the Gulf and the possibility of hurricanes exists every year. Residency within City of Orange city limits is a requirement for this position.
